Niah began with a simple idea shared between two brothers: Den Haag deserved more. More spaces where specialty coffee is treated with respect, more places where matcha is not an afterthought but a ritual, more cafés where food is both delicious and Halal, and above all more room for everyone to feel at home.

When we opened our doors, we didn’t know how the city would respond. What we found was overwhelming. Guests told us time and again: “This is exactly what The Hague was missing.” Our brunch, our matcha, our coffee it resonated. And the reviews reflected it: warm words, loyal guests, and a growing community that gave Niah its soul.

The first year was about learning building a team, refining our craft, and diving deeper into the world of specialty coffee and matcha. Our matcha quickly became a signature. Guests loved it so much they asked if they could buy it for home. One year later, we launched our own matcha brand, complete with new branding that carried our vision forward.

Coffee, too, has been a journey. We’ve had the privilege to collaborate with internationally renowned roasters like NOMAD and La Cabra, while also maintaining a strong partnership with our friends at Giraffe Coffee Roasters. Each collaboration taught us something new, elevated our craft, and connected us to a wider coffee culture. Along the way, our café became more than a place to eat and drink. It became a stage for our guests hosting community events, private gatherings, and creative collaborations. These moments reminded us of why we started: Niah isn’t just about flavors, it’s about connection.
